11.16 - Creative Fun & Catch-up

11/16/2018

Alrighty team,

We have been working hard to get you to Manual, but some of the best photography really is just about having some fun, so take this week and do that. You have NO homework, but you do have a lot to make sure you have in your portfolio.

Here is the list:
  • Rule of Thirds
  • Rule of Odds
  • Lines
  • Simplification
  • Fill the Frame
  • Still Life #1
  • Light Painting
  • Long Shutter Speed (water, sky, light trails, etc.)

Remember, you need to write your reflection of each of these. Discuss your camera settings, what you were trying to go for, and what you learned.  Also remember, failure is okay, but only if you are learning from it.  You can use newer photos if you would like a better example, but keep the previous photos there to show you were done on time.

11/12 - Long Shutter Speed Practice

Hey team,

Hopefully you have been practicing your long shutter speed (and fast shutter speed) techniques.

HOMEWORK
  • Select one of the shutter speed techniques below, and upload your best to the class. You will submit your best long shutter speed photos later to your portfolio:
    • River/Waterfall
    • Starlight
    • Northern Lights
    • Advanced Light Painting
  • For each of these, do some research online for best settings. You can use Google, but YouTube is great too.

Best of Luck!
